“The paintings combine literal and abstract imagery with the aim of getting at different levels of perception. When I am in the rainforest (or anywhere for that matter) whatever Iā€™m looking at is generally colored by subconscious thoughts and associations superimposed on the scene at hand. So, this is my way of illustrating how I view things. I could go into great detail about specific subjective associations that I play with in the paintings but I prefer the viewer interpret the pictures from his or her own perspective.”
